From Medicaid to Medigap - New Guaranteed Issue For Certain Individuals

Are you eligible for Medicare and are you in the Maryland Medical Assistance Program? If your answer is “Yes” and you meet the following requirements, you may be eligible to buy a Medicare Supplemental policy with a Guaranteed Issue (without any medical questions asked):
You are enrolled in Medicare Part B while enrolled in the Maryland Medical Assistance Program;
You remained in the Maryland Medical Assistance Program due to a suspension of terminations by the Maryland Medical Assistance Program during a state of emergency (COVID-19 pandemic) and was not dis-enrolled or terminated until at least 6 months following the effective date of enrollment in Medicare Part B; and
You applied for a Medicare supplemental policy during the 63–day period following the later of the date of termination from the Maryland Medical Assistance Program or the date the individual is notified of termination from the Maryland Medical Assistance Program.
