Got Chronic Pain? Medicare/Medigap May Help

Updated: Nov 10, 2023

Do you have several serious chronic conditions (such as arthiritis and diabetes) that you have been battling and you expect to continue for at least a year? If so, Medicare may pay for the care that you receive from a medical provider. If you are interested, your medical provider will develop a comprehensive care plan that lists your health problems and goals, other providers, medications, community service you have and need, other health information and will explain the care you need and how it will be coordinated.

Does this sound like something you would be interested in? If so, see your medical provider. If you agree to this service, your provider will go over the care plan with you and everything you need to know, such as: help you with medication management, provide 24/7 access for urgent care management needs, give you support when you go from one health care setting to another, and help you with other chronic care needs.

Sounds too good to be true? Maybe. There is cost involved. If you are interested, you pay a monthly fee, and the Part B deductible and coinsurance apply. However, If you have Medigap insurance or Medicaid, these benefits may help cover the monthly fee.

Tip #1 - If interested, get in contact with your medical provider.

Tip #2 - Ask your medical provider to explain in detail to see if you qualify.

Tip #3 - If you qualify, make sure you understand the comprehensive care plan your medical provider develops for you, and follow it.

Tip #4 - If you have Medicaid, call Medicaid to determine if help is available to cover the monthly fee.

Tip #5 - If you have a Medigap insurance, call your insurance agent to see if your policy will cover the monthly fee. If you do not have Medigap Insurance, please contact us.
